Creative Petel is the brainchild of one man based in Yorkshire with a creative and sometimes alternative view on everyday problems.
The story starts in 1996 when, during a spectacularly boring afternoon in one of the smallest recording studios in Urmston, I was first referred to as Creative Petel. It was meant to poke fun at my creative side during a school play rehersal, although nowadays the name does more to confuse people than it does to offer an insight into the skills and opinions of "Mr Peter".
Ironically perhaps, I set out in Secondary School wanting to become a chemical analyst, even spending the summer of 1998 working in an chemical analysis lab in Manchester as part of a Nuffield Bursary scheme. Things changed though, as feeling more at home with mathematics than the chemicals themselves, I turned my attention in 2000 to Mathematics and Computing. I now specialise in modelling how probability can be applied to the Commercial decision making processes.
I've always been interested in computing ever since I was given a primitive computer in 1991. I started out writing simple programs in BASIC and went on to develop skills which were transfered to PC based systems during the 90's. From the early BASIC systems to the rich Web applications we have today, I've has always been interested in making some new code which would do something a bit different.
I can't remember when I first started playing the Piano. I was lazy as a teenager, something which I now regret as I didn't make the most of my keyboard skills. That said, I did walk away with a various bits of paper which said I could play, sing and theorise. After a break of nearly 10 years, I'm back playing the Piano and Organ again, offering my services as an accompanist wherever I can.
I am trying to bring these three interests together in one piece of work, by working on a different mathematical basis for the structure and pattern of Baroque music. I'm not getting very far but, if I do get anywhere, i'll publish things here.
This website is designed to be a window into my ideas, so I can share my thoughts and observations with the world. I hope you find something which interests you here. If not, you know where the Back button is.
